Our Accommodation:

Overlooking the Langebaan nature reserve, this beautiful guest house offers outstanding views over Schaapeneiland and lagoon, with incomparable birdwatching opportunities. 

This stunning Langebaan accommodation has 5 bedrooms and has been awarded a grading of 4 Stars by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa (TGCSA) for "Superior (excellent) comfort and quality with a highstandard of furnishings and service".

The bedrooms are very comfortably furnished with tea tray, fan, large shower and spa bath as you can see on the photograph. There is a television in the lounge for all the guests to use.

Breakfast @ the rocksWe serve a very substantial continental breakfast and it is a pleasure to sit and watch the little duikers pass the house in search of food. There are also dassies on the rocks and if you go for a walk, you may come across a tortoise or two. The birdlife is abundant, even from the house, but the lagoon wetlands is a renowned bird watching spot.

There is a footpath from the house down through the veld to the lagoon and town centre and it takes about twenty minutes to walk. If you prefer to drive to the shops (there are a couple of nice ones!), it will take you about seven minutes.

There are also bicycles at the guest house for guests' use. We can recommend a number of restaurants in Langebaan for lunch and dinner. Other activities include horse-riding, of course walks on the beach, all kinds of water sports like windsurfing, kite-surfing, etc.

Directions to At the Rocks:

At the Rocks - Langebaan guest houseFrom central Cape Town, Take N1 highway, then R27 (Paarden Eiland turnoff), north, direction Veldrif.

At the Rocks is approximately 130 kms north of Cape Town.

After about 120 kms from Cape Town, take turn off left to Langebaan (there is an Engen petrol service station on the left just before the turnoff).  After 10 kms, this brings you into the main road, Oostewal Street, Langebaan.

The distances above are obviously from Cape Town, just to give some indication of distance.  It normally takes us 1.5 hours from town.

  1. At the second stop street in Oostewal, turn left into Sleigh Street
  2. 1.6 km further, turn Right into Sunbird Drive.
  3. Once up the hill, another 1.6 km further, at the stop street, turn right into Tortilissingel (Tortilis Crescent).
  4. At the Rocks is at the bottom of the “U” of the crescent and it is on a panhandle plot.  There is a grey facebrick house under construction directly behind us, so please go slowly and look for a long driveway with standing lamps on each side.
  5. You will see a sign:  65, At the Rocks  at the entrance and on the wall of the house.
  6. Welcome!
